“next year on Halloween, I wanna….”

We survived Halloween.  It was a  huge success.  🙂  I have to say this is the first year that Adam has gotten totally into it.  He’s already making big plans for next year…namely FILLING his trick or treat Jack-o-Lantern.  Between the several houses in our neighborhood and the mini-haul from the school carnival, he was about 2/3 of the way there this year.

Thursday night we all headed to downtown Lincoln for their safe trick or treat event.  There were threatening clouds and a threatening 10 month old….but we went out anyway.  I’m glad we did.  We saw many familiar faces, took a few pictures and A got some great candy.  Right as we were heading back to the car, the rain started.  We got a teensy bit wet, but it wasn’t bad.  Oh, and Owen seemed to enjoy himself and refrained from his evening, sleepy-time scream session.  WOOHOOOO!!!

Friday was the big day….Adam had been counting down for months.  I  hoped it wasn’t going to be a disappointment for him.  Would ToTing AND the carnival be too much???   We went through the neighborhood a bit before heading over to school for the carnival.  They had lots of fun games (yes, the fishing one!!!) and were showing The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown (over and over and over).  All the games were  free….and he “won” candy for each game played.  I entered him in the Best Costume contest.  I was so proud of him.  All entrants were called to the front, asked to stand on a hay bale and wave to the crowd.  He seemed nervous as all the kids before him were doing it.  But when it was his turn, he went up there like a superstar.  Not only did he wave to the crowd….he also waved his magic wand.  So cute!!!   He wasn’t an official winner, but we got lots of great responses about his costume.

tomorrow is a neighborhood party.  YES!!! we get another use out of the costumes….woo hoo!  Should be fun getting together with the neighbors and enjoying some down time a bit.

Here are some pics from the last couple of days….

  1. sounds like it was a great day(s). The pictures are adorable as usual…I just can’t understand how Adam wasn’t the winner of the costume contest…I am glad he had so much fun…and his bunny companion was adorable.
